Bloomington Area Arts Council Chooses ConsulTech
Date: Oct 08, 2005
ConsulTech, one of Bloomington's oldest technology services firms, has been chosen to host www.bloomingtonArts.info, the Bloomington Area Arts Council's new community arts web site. The web site, funded as a joint venture between the City of Bloomington, Verizon, and Indiana University, offers comprehensive listings of area arts and cultural events, access to online ticketing, and links to in-depth information about arts organizations in Bloomington and the surrounding counties.
Gerry Sousa, President of the Bloomington Area Arts Council, and project manager for the site's development, commented, "bloomingtonArts.info owes its existence to the collective determination and vision of literally hundreds of local citizens who are dedicated to nurturing and promoting the remarkable breadth and depth of cultural resources available here in Bloomington and throughout the surrounding counties. This project is an excellent example of the synergy and creativity that can emerge when the art and business communities collaborate successfully to develop a solution that neither could produce independently. In particular, the site owes a great deal of its success to the outstanding software engineers at Envisage who built what we imagined, and to the dedicated team at ConsulTech who ensure its ongoing reliability and performance. The unqualified commitment of these two companies to exceeding expectations has been a major factor in producing a site that truly enhances and showcases the world-class cultural offerings of this area."
"We chose ConsulTech because of their past record of support for the arts and their prompt responsiveness to any issues that may develop", said BAAC Interim Executive Director Nancy Krueger. "The arts calendar has been a long time coming -- something that community arts leaders have dreamt of for years. And now it has become a reality with the technical help and commitment of ConsulTech, the application designers at Envisage, project manager Gerry Sousa, and the BAAC staff."
"ConsulTech prides itself on providing high-quality technology solutions to local organizations in ways that enhance the quality of life in Bloomington," states Patrick Casey, ConsulTech CEO. "We are very pleased to have the opportunity to work with the BAAC on their new web site. It will be a great asset for the Bloomington arts community."
